February 26-27 Jambalaya Open Skeet Match Results
Doubles Classification
Description
Thirteen shooters were treated to fair skies, warm sun, and calm winds, for a superb winter shoot. Cyrus Hutchings jumped way out in front the first day with
a fine 96 in doubles, backed up by a 98 in 28 gauge. Jon Yagla ran hard the second day, but even with a 95 in the .410, couldn't catch up. Vern Lucas and Jason Falbe
were steady, but also choked on Cy's dust. Wayne Chaunchy swept D, and judging by his 28 ga scores won't be in D much longer.
Dave Howard, a perennial threat to all mid class shooters, kept up the pressure, claiming two victories and loosing a third in a shootoff.
A couple juniors were impressive in their debuts: Matt Philpott broke half of his doubles on his first try!, and Alex Chauncy, still not as tall as is gun is long, crushed 53 targets,
one caught by a gust ran like a sporting clays rabbit.
